Too Tight
Someone mentioned to me that Forever 21 skirts that are the “perfect” length are so tight that they show your underwear line...
Are we being tznius or are we just going with the trend? (age 21)
Well that goes back to my original question: why do we dress the way do?
we dress like that because school has their dress code and it is to cover your knees and aything above. but i dont think showing your underwear line is covering much -14So why do the girls specifically get these skirts if they show their underwear line? Aren’t there other skirts that follow the dress code that don’t do this? Do they ever get in trouble for having their underwear line
showing? If not, do you think that’s okay? or weird?
I believe the Halacha is that from the hips to the knee and including the knee, it has to be covered in a way that does not reveal that there are 2 limbs (whereas after the knee to the foot it can be covered in a way that does reveal that there are 2 limbs). In that case a skirt that is extremely tight would also reveal 2 limbs as it hugs the legs tightly so one can see 2 “bumps”. Therefore I think its not allowed according to halacha. Correct me if I’m wrong or ask your local orthodox rabbi. Of course no judments on people who wear that because religious practice can be a work-in -progress and I’m sure there are tons of commandments which I need to brush up on.........27
