Kol Isha
Are the laws regarding Kol Isha applicable to the laws of Tznius?
this particular mitzva is somewhat of a challenge for me because i love to sing! and someone got my hopes up once saying that a women is allowed to sing in front of men if its a zemira (like if you are singing along) i dont know whether to believe this or not... help? (Age 17)
I heard that when three or more women are singing together then it is permissible. Does anyone know the source for this?
Why was this Halacha put into place? I think loads of women find men's voices pretty attractive....shouldn't they not be able to sing either??
It's forbidden for a Jewish man to hear you sing. So is it permissible to sing in front of a non-Jewish man?
And then what about our clothes–is it forbidden to dress immodestly in front of a Jewish man so as not to be a stumbling block, but okay to be immodest in front of a non-Jewish man?
I know this is a strange question. I'm just mulling it over as a concept, not for practicality.(Age 26)
Either way its a great question and it comes back to a basic tznius question: is it for me or for him?
I think it goes both ways, personally.
In regards to non-Jewish men, we would not want them to stumble...especially onto us, Jewish women!
